What it does
TokenMaxxer tracks and ranks AI coding-tool usage by measuring the tokens you burn across models and tools, then optionally placing you on a global leaderboard. It’s built for developers who use multiple AI coding products and want a single, detailed view of total token usage, estimated cost, and where that usage is coming from.
The workflow starts with installing the TokenMaxxer CLI. A single command reads your usage locally from supported coding tools (including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, Antigravity, Qwen CLI, Cline, Roo Code, Kilo Code, Droid, Amp, Grok Build, Pi, Goose, Zed Agent, and Command Code). The CLI is read-only and collects usage metadata such as token counts, which model and tool produced them, and estimated cost.
Privacy is central: prompts, model responses, your code, and file contents stay on your machine. TokenMaxxer is private by default, and you choose what to sync. You can keep your usage fully private, or opt in to publish a public profile and compete on the global leaderboard.
Once synced, TokenMaxxer lets you see usage across the network and drill into breakdowns by model and by tool—showing how tokens and spend are distributed across what developers run. If you opt in publicly, you can track your rank over time, flip views between tokens and spend, compare “this week” vs all-time totals, and follow momentum via weekly movers and streaks.
TokenMaxxer is designed to help you understand and manage AI coding consumption across providers and tools: know exactly how many tokens you’re using, what they’re costing, and which models and tools are responsible—then decide whether to keep those numbers private or share them to claim a spot on the leaderboard.
Free to start: create an account, connect your tools, and begin tracking your usage for free (public profiles and leaderboard participation are opt-in). Install: npm install -g tokenmaxxer Read-only · open-source parsers · transcripts stay local. Twitter: @SYM1001
